Shveta graduated from Sophia College in Mumbai and started her career as a model. She participated in the 1999 Gladrags Mega Model contest and though she did not go on to win, was noticed and roles began coming her way. Maxim magazine shot Shveta Salve and Sandhya MridulShe started her acting career with the serial Jane Kaahan Mera Jigar Gaya Ji on Sony Entertainment Television. Post that, she acted in various TV serials such as Hip Hip Hooray, Sansar, Khamosh Hai Kab Tak, Dil Ko Kaise Samjhaye, Kitty Party and Lipstick all on Zee TV. She became popular after her cameo in Sony's Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. She then went on to do the popular show Left Right Left on Sab TV. Shveta played a small role in the Hindi film Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, appeared in a music video for Stereo Nation and in a song from Karunesh's album.
